Molecule Originals 'Orange'

The style is late '90s early '00s baggy cargo. I usually wear size L / 32" waist and listened to the advice on the website to go one size down, so ordered size M. The cut is excellent with running nice and snug around the top of the pockets and over the bum before running wide. This avoids ugly creases or excess material in the front or in the back, something most baggy cuts get wrong.
There is no sign of cutting costs to be found anywhere. Top notch engineered and executed piece with double row stitching, reinforced stitching in key areas, good zippers,... I haven't seen this level of execution unless you are willing to pay twice/thrice as much for a pair of shorts.
The fabric is a well judged compromise between weight, durability and comfort, leaning toward heavy duty but very soft to touch and pleasant to wear.
As a result of robust design and fabric, the shorts are rather heavy. On kitchen scales, my long Levi's 501 W34 L32 weighed in at 742g, the Molecule Originals at 721g.
This was my first purchase from Molecule and with it the brand secured a firm position on my ruthlessly trimmed down go-to brands list.
